Audit Senior Associate

After another year of growth, we are recruiting an Audit Senior Associate to join our team and to share in the future success of the firm.

Key to our success is having a talented and dedicated team of individuals who want to work in and actively be part of an inspiring and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will recognise the importance of a team approach but will have the innate determination to ‘go the extra mile’ for the firm, its clients, their colleagues and themselves. The people who join our team are recruited not only for their technical excellence and ability, but also for the potential we see in them to help us drive the firm forward and add real value for our clients.

At CLB Coopers, which is part of the Baldwins Group, one of the fastest growing accountancy firms in the UK, we know our people are our greatest asset and without them we will not achieve success. For that reason, we provide a structured and supportive approach to training and career development and create an environment in which everyone is encouraged to achieve their aspirations and ambitions. We make sure that the members of our team who deserve recognition, reward and progression throughout the firm are always given it.

The applicant

At interview, we know you’ll tell us you’re intelligent, numerate, articulate, that you have strong technical knowledge and are committed to finishing the job  on time and to budget – these things are a given.

But can you develop a genuine rapport with clients and be their day-to-day contact? Can you inspire your team and support their development? Can you spot a need and suggest a solution? Do you care about our clients and the service you’re providing them, the relationship you develop with them and the influence you have on your peers? Will you make a direct contribution to the continued growth we seek? If so, you’re exactly the kind of person we want to be part of our team. And if you can demonstrate at interview using examples of why you believe you’re the kind of person we’re looking for, then all the better! You’ll be well-placed for a highly enjoyable, challenging and successful career with us.

Ideally you will:-

  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified with first-time passes with at least two years’ post-qualified experience
  • Minimum 2:1 degree
  • Audit experience, including Group audits
  • Accounts preparation
  • Working knowledge of CCH an advantage
  • Charities/FSA/Pensions experience also an advantage

The role

We have high expectations of all our team and are looking for an Audit Senior Associate who is experienced in leading audit teams on clients ranging from small owner-managed businesses to larger groups and operating across a diverse range of industries. You’ll be responsible not only for delivering a complete audit file for review on time (every time), but also for managing the audit process from beginning to end, working with other departments across the firm as necessary, ensuring our clients receive the seamless service they deserve. You’ll consider and summarise complex audit issues, review and challenge your team’s work, making the manager and partner internal reviews as straightforward as possible.

You will be based at our Bolton office, but the requirements of the role will be that you work across the firm’s client base, so you’ll need to be flexible to work from our Lancaster and Manchester office locations and clients’ premises as needed and as part of your normal day-to-day duties.
