Sage 50 Accounts Mobile
Sage 50 Accounts Mobile provides access to Sage 50 Accounts 2012 data via a mobile device through a live secure gateway link. As this is a new service it is only compatible with Sage 50 Accounts 2012.
Sage 50 Mobile will provide a simple, fast overview of business financial performance, secure access to live data and the ability to administer different levels of access to different users.
There are 4 main areas of information that can be accessed or managed through the application:
- Customers
- Suppliers
- Products and pricing
- Bank and financial headlines
Sage 50 Mobile provides various degrees of Write Back and Read Only functionality connected live to Sage 50 Accounts data. Access is managed by the Sage 50 Desktop administrator to ensure the appropriate level of information for every user.
Users can create entries including quotes/invoices and the setup of customer details or just choose to use the simple dashboard for a snap shot read only summary of customer and supplier finances.
Note: Access to multiple datasets is supported and a demonstration data feature is included for users to experience the functionality without linking up to a live Sage 50 Accounts dataset.
What are the formats?
Mobile applications will be available for Blackberry and Apple mobile devices from launch. Both applications will provide the same functionality.
Future versions will include applications for Android phone OS and iPad.

Setup
There are numerous routes to acquiring Sage 50 Mobile but ultimately the set-up has to be carried out via the desktop for a mobile device to connect to desktop.
All users must be registered via the Installation Wizard that is now built into Sage 50 Accounts 2012. This delivers the correct component file for access to data and provides a simple, intuitive process that requires little technical knowledge.
Set-up and subsequent Log-in to the service via mobile device requires a Sage Passport which can either be an existing or new registration. Passport accounts are not directly linked to desktop software licences – instead they are linked to specific datasets.
Access to additional datasets must be set up for each set via the in-built wizard. Multiple datasets can be attributed to individual passport logins.
The Desktop Manager only needs to be installed on one machine. This will then control access for all users.
Note: The service will only work when the desktop or server hosting the respective dataset are active (turned on) i.e. if the host PC that Sage 50 Accounts and respective dataset(s) are hosted on is not turned on then the service will not work.
