Rob joined CLB Coopers in 2011 having previously held the position of Director at KPMG in London. On returning to the North West, where he initially trained as a chartered accountant, Rob fulfils an ambition to continue his career in the area.
Specialising in all areas of Taxation - specifically bridging the gap between corporate and personal taxes - Rob is particularly focused on Entrepreneurs and developing tax strategies for businesses and their owners in order to improve tax efficiency.
He also has extensive experience with acquisitions and disposals, exit strategies and business restructuring using companies, partnerships and offshore trusts and planning for non-UK domiciles.
Rob has also spent time as the head of tax of a large international media group dealing with the corporate tax affairs of the group.
Rob believes that in order to give the best advice, you need to look at both the business and its owners to understand the commercial drivers, their objectives and the anticipated end result. Once this is known, you can advise on all tax issues to ensure both the business and the owner achieve maximum tax efficiency whilst meeting their commercial needs.
Rob’s goal is to become the trusted advisor to his clients, maintaining regular contact and being a sounding board to ensure business decisions are made in a more informed manner. He believes that it is important that professional advisors are like partners in a business and are able to see things from a business perspective and he equally believes it is essential that they add value to the owner and the business.
